The Wood County Sheriff's Office Detective Division consists of four full-time detectives who handle over 500 investigations yearly. Each detective is qualified to process crime scenes and investigate all criminal activity, e.g. deaths, homicides, rapes, burglaries, child abuse, arson, stolen goods, etc. Each detective is experienced in interviews, interrogations, and interviewing of children and victims. They are responsible for preparing cases for successful prosecution, grand jury presentations, courtroom testimony, making arrests, securing and executing search warrants and any other aspect of law enforcement. The division has a combined experience of over 60 years in law enforcement.

Detective Lieutenant James Webb joined the Wood County Sheriff's Office in 1995, was appointed to the Detective Division in 2007 and promoted to Lieutenant in 2008.

Detective Sergeant Chuck Below joined the Wood County Sheriff's office in 1989 and was appointed to the Detective Division in 2004.

Detective Sergeant Terry James joined the Wood County Sheriff's office in 1995 and was appointed to the Detective Division in 2007.

Detective Sergeant Scott Koch joined the Wood County Sheriff's Office in 1999 and was appointed to the Detective Division in 2008.
