Wood County Sheriff's Office Explorer Program
More About the Explorer ProgramTop
The Wood County Sheriff's Explorer Post 8700 is made up of young adults, male and female, ranging from the ages of 15 to 21 years old. The Post was organized in 2002 and participated in over 20 events that year, and that number grows every year. The Explorer Post is overseen by Deputy Ryan Emahiser and several other law enforcement volunteers throughout all of the events and meetings. All of the Explorers that have joined this group have a common interest in law enforcement as a career wether it be local, state, or federal. This group partakes in several different activities to work towards a common knowledge of law enforcement that gives an advantage to the Explorers as they begin their law enforcement careers. Several former members of the Explorer Post are currently employed by local agencies including the Sheriff's Office. The Post has meetings twice a month in which they have classroom and practical trainings, and explore the different aspects of Law Enforcement. If YOU have an interest in joining a program like this, contact Deputy Ryan Emahiser for more information, or an application.
