Justice Center

Learn more about the Justice CenterTop

The Justice Center, a 149 bed facility, was first occupied in June of 1990. It is supervised by Captain Ronda Gibson, Jail Administrator, and has a staff of over 50 deputies involved in the operations of our Full Service Facility. The staff is responsible for the safety and well-being of each inmate, and strives to maintain full accreditation with the standards set forth by the Bureau of Adult Detention of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. On site also is a full-service medical facility operated by Health Professionals, LTD of Peoria, Illinois, and a fully staffed kitchen that provides meals for the Justice Center, Juvenile Detention Center and Juvenile Residential Center of Northwest Ohio.

In an effort to effectively manage the jail population, it has recently been necessary to transfer prisoners to other jails located in Putnam County (419-523-3407), Ottawa County (419-734-6828) and Van Wert County (419-238-2464). While it is realized these relocations are an inconvenience to the families, your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated for the safety and security of the inmates as well as the staff. The Wood County Sheriff's Office is currently in the planning stages of a jail expansion which is hoped to better accommodate the increasing number of inmates and to operate more efficiently.
