The Wood County Sheriff's Office Motorcycle Unit has been active since the early 1990's. The motorcycles are assigned to many different kind of tasks geared around community policing. In 2008, this unit handled a total of 62 different events. These events included motorcycle fund raiser rides, 5K runs, dignitary escorts, athletic teams escorts, safety fairs, and local parades. The deputies assigned to this unit volunteer their time.
Currently, the unit is riding Harley Davidson Road King Police Package motorcycles. The motorcycles are leased though the Harley Davidson Police Lease Program. If you would like more information on the Motorcycle Unit, please contact the Sheriff's Office.
