The Wood County Explorer Post is an extension of the Boy Scouts and is chartered under the Erie Shores Council Division.  The Explorer Post trains young adults in several different areas of Law Enforcement including but not limited to traffic control, laws of arrest and proper communication skills.

The Explorer Post is composed of young adults between the ages of 15 to 21.  Currently we have approximately 22 members.  During the year 2010 we worked 18 events and the Explorer Post has donated over 1007.50  hours of time.

We look forward to the future and to upcoming events.  Should you know anyone who is interested in more information about the Explorers please contact Deputy Brian Bonnough at the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.

Why Should You Become An Explorer?

You will get the chance to gain hands on experience in law enforcement and have the opportunity to

work with Sheriff Deputies and Police Officers from many different agencies

while learning all about the different areas of law enforcement

work and getting involved in the community.
